For 2023 the Defence Women’s Network are excited to bring to you a series of new events and initiatives!
Menopause Sofa - Session 4
The Defence Women's Network is excited to offer our fourth instalment of the DWN Menopause Sofa.
We are working with ‘Clipboard Claire’ throughout 2023 to bring you a ‘DWN Menopause Sofa Session’ each month! On the sofa will explore different aspects of the Menopause that impacts on everyday life whether that be women struggling to manage the symptoms of their menopause, their line managers and work colleagues both male and female or family and friends.
Each sofa session will be held virtually and will include a comprehensive awareness session with time for questions and answers, for anyone wanting specific advice this will be immediately followed by a 30-minute slot where Claire will offer advice and guidance.
This event will take place on Thursday 20th April from 12:00 - 13:30 hrs.

Fireside Chat: Tips for Building Your Career With ServiceNow
The Defence Women's Network is delighted to welcome Rachel Awbery and Shakira Talbot from ServiceNow for this first event in their 2023 'Building Your Career' Series for DWN.
Both Rachel and Shakira are passionate about supporting women, and as such are founder members of Women in Action, a pan-organisational collaboration, inspiring and growing female talent in technology and innovation.
This event will take place on Tuesday 14th March from 10:00 – 11:00hrs on Teams.


Tackling Impostor Syndrome when Presenting’ – Group Discussion with Vima Group
The Defence Women's Network is pleased to welcome back Alice Proctor from Vima Group for this second session on Tackling Impostor Syndrome’
Impostor syndrome can be a huge hindrance when public speaking and can be a direct cause of nerves and anxiety. Even if you know the content of the presentation really well, it can be difficult to maintain self-confidence if you struggle with impostor syndrome.
This session will begin with a 10-minute talk about impostor syndrome, based both on research and my own experiences with impostor syndrome.
This event will take place on Tuesday 28th March from 12:00 – 13:00hrs on Teams.

Sofa Session - Session 3

7 Healthy Habits for Happy Employees with Mindful Station
The Defence Women's Network is delighted to welcome back for 2023 Karen Farrell from Mindful Station for this event on 7 Healthy Habits for Happy Employees.
We all know happiness is a state of mind, but few of us know how to increase our share of it.
This event will take place on Wednesday 19th April from 12:00 – 12:45pm.

DWN Conference 2023
The second annual DWN Conference will take place on 27th April 2023 in London.
The theme of the conference will be 'Leadership & Self-Empowerment'. The event will examine how female leaders, at any grade/rank, can enhance their skills to become the leader they aspire to be.
The conference will be hybrid and we will stream the event live. Applications for in-person tickets have now closed, however registration will remain open until 24th March for you to obtain a virtual ticket.

Our New interview series will continue in the new year where we will showcase more inspirational women and male allies.

Work is well underway with numerous defence organisations to offer a variety of events for our members on various different subjects, we will be working with Itsus Consulting, Amazon, CGI, Fujitsu, Leidos, Palantir, Lockheed Martin, Accenture, Boxxe, Warwick Business School and many more, dates and topics are still being confirmed but more information will be made available soon!
